Mrs. Ruby J. Goetz, 89, of Cedar Creek, MO, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at her
residence. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 24 in the
Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M.
Wednesday, January 25 in the funeral home with Pastor Vernon Fuller officiating. Burial
will follow in the Brown Cemetery, Kissee Mills.
Ruby Jewell Hunsucker Goetz was born Monday, November 21, 1927 in Chadwick, MO to
Perry and Golda (Wyman) Hursh. She was a life-long resident of Taney County and
attended Forsyth High School. After finishing school, she met Orville Hunsucker while
attending church and were married in July of 1944. The couple moved to Hood River OR
and worked in the agriculture industry for five year. They moved to Cedar Creek in
1950. Ruby was an excellent cook and baked for the Fox Café in Forsyth. She worked
for Skaggs in the dietary department for seventeen years and retired in 1989. Orville
died in 1994.
Ruby was a hardworking, family centered lady that helped provide for the family by
gardening, quilting, baking, cake decorating and turkey hunting. No one would leave her
house hungry. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. She attended
the New Vision Church of Taneyville.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Whitley and husband, James of Cedar Creek,
and Janet Clark and husband, Ronald of Bradleyville; one brother, Oliver Hursh and wife,
Harriet of Blue Eye; one sister, Pearl Adams of Springfield, MO; two grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Golda; husband, Orville Hunsucker;
brothers, Lonnie and Rawlie Hursh and Sherman Jenkins; one sister Esther.
